WePay Journey - Part 2
After I got my initial email from Rich (see part 1 of my WePay Journey), Rich and I had set up lunch. We met at Jing Jing (the first of many terrible dining experiences) and talked start-ups, funding, the WePay story and my role in ES.
At the time, I had just begun my first week in the e-lab program held by my entrepreneurship professor Steve Bennet. Prof. Bennet holds an internship course each spring that puts 12 hand-selected students into 12 internships at start-ups. I had mentioned the course to Rich and he was pretty stoked about the idea. I told him I’d connect him with Prof. Bennet to get WePay some free labor and the student an internship at a killer funded start-up.
That student ended up being me. I began at WePay as an unpaid Marketing intern in February 2010. This was a picture I took in March (don’t ask me why I’m peering out from a glass window - I still don’t understand it either).
